Win a wide range of prizes with Cycle to Work Day

Halfords is delighted to be supporting Cycle to Work Day when it returns on Wednesday 14th September for its fourth year. This annual event encourages everyone in the UK and Ireland to take to two wheels and cycle to work for just one day.

Pledge to take part in the day and you can win great prizes from brands such as Merida, Showers Pass, Muc-Off, Brompton and more. There will be other prizes also on Cycle to Work Day's Facebook and Twitter pages.

According to census data, 741,000 people in the UK and just under 40,000 in Ireland cycle to work regularly. This number keeps growing steadily, and Cycle to Work Day aims to make those numbers increase. By 2021, it is hoped that there will be a million people regularly commuting to work by bike.

Previous Cycle to Work Days saw tens of thousands of commuters hit the streets on the day, and cycled over a million miles. Hundreds of employers have also supported the day, from start-ups like Pact Coffee and Rumble Labs, to large companies such as Amey and Rolls-Royce, and organisations such as NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and The University of Cambridge.

Cycle to Work Day also enjoys unilateral support from cycling advocacy groups such as Act Travelwise, Halfords, BikeBiz, the Bicycle Association, British Cycling, Cyclescheme Ireland, Cycling UK, Cyclescheme, the London Cycling Campaign, Santander Cycles, Sustrans and Tour of Britain.

This far-reaching support ensures that Cycle to Work Day's message is spread far and wide, but to truly fulfil our aims and see a million people regularly cycle commuting by 2021 we need you to get in the saddle with Cycle to Work Day and encourage your colleagues, friends and family to give cycling a go.
