New and exclusive bike range from double Olympic gold medallist Laura Trott
07 Jun 2016
We’re thrilled to announce that Laura Trott, double Olympic gold medallist, is the fourth Olympian to launch a range of bikes for Halfords – joining fellow cycling champions Bradley Wiggins, Victoria Pendleton and Chris Boardman.
Following Laura’s recent success at the Track World Championships where she claimed two Gold medals and one Bronze, she is now the holder of seven world titles, making her the perfect ambassador for women’s cycling as well as a role model to encourage more women to take up the sport.
Laura has created four bikes – one hybrid and three road – inspired by and dedicated to the needs of women cyclists, with a female‐specific geometry and spec, priced from £449 and launching just ahead of the Rio Olympics in July.
Laura says, “Riding bikes is my life, so it’s been a dream for me to develop my own. I want to see as many women and girls as possible to get out there on bikes ‐ whether it’s city commuters, mums cycling to school, fitness seekers or for those who want to go all the way and compete, the bikes are tailored to women and their individual ambitions for cycling”.
"When we went through the design process, it was really important to create bikes that are both fast and comfortable for women. I wanted to create a range dedicated to the specific needs of women, so they don’t have to worry about whether a bike fits properly, leaving them inspired to really just enjoy getting out there.”
“If I can inspire women and girls to get on a bike and give it a go, that would be amazing.”
The Laura Trott range of bikes will launch in store this July and will be Halfords’ fourth partnership with an Olympian, with the WIGGINS range of kids bikes from Sir Bradley Wiggins also launching in July to join Boardman Bikes from Chris Boardman, and the Pendleton range from double Olympic medallist, Victoria Pendleton.
This summer, Halfords will have its biggest range of women’s bikes in shops and online, from the new Laura Trott bikes to the launch of 17 new models in its Apollo and Carrera ranges, meaning there is a bike to meet the needs of every cyclist.
